ADVANTAGES

-Internal PE coated steel pipes are more resistant to high pressure and vibration than other plastic GRE pipes. The manufacturing of the steel pipe parts is easy, inexpensive and widely applied method.

- Sea water cooler inlet outlets are more prone to corrosion due to electrolitic corrosion, errosion and cavitation corrosion. PE coating prevent those.

- Glass reinforced epoxy pipe (GRE) is resistant to high pressure and corrosion due to its high wall thickness, but its cost is much higher. Vibration resistance at the connection points of GRE pipes is lower. It is difficult and costly to fabricate GRE pipe in case of possible errors. Contact with sea water quickly causes corrosion on the surface of galvanized material, as it breaks the protective layer on the zinc coating surface. PE coating is much more resistant to corrosion than galvanized coating.

- It is not possible to paint complex shaped pipe spools with a variety of single (solvent) or double (epoxy) component paints. Paint cannot be sprayed evenly into the pipe. Even if straight shaped pipes can be made in this way, the coating thickness does not exceed 150 microns (0.15 mm). PE coating can be applied to complex shaped pipe spools more easily under certain conditions and the coating thickness would be in the range of 2000-4000 microns (2-4 mm).

- In our facility polyester filling is made to pipes smaller than DN 50. This provides easy application in small diameter pipes compared to other coating types. Coating thickness would be less than 150 microns.

- PE coating, that thickness varies between 2000-4000 microns depending on the pipe diameter, makes the pipe systems much more resistant to corrosion than applied thin layer paint or epoxy paint.

-It has superior electrical insulation against potential differences that cause corrosion.
